Position Summary

Accountable.US seeks a Grants Manager to help us organize our growing fundraising operation. Working closely with our Chief of Staff, President, and Fundraising Consultant, the Grants Manager will be responsible for overseeing the proposal- and report-writing process for all our grants, as well as researching new opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Maintain grants calendar, including proposal and reporting due dates;
  • Lead proposal process, including drafting and editing grant narratives;
  • Draft and edit report narratives, gather documents for reports;
  • Research prospective funders (private foundations and individuals) and conduct initial outreach;
  • Work with the Executive Assistant to coordinate donor calls/meetings with the A.US President and other members of the leadership team;
  • Track outreach and follow up with potential donors;
  • Manage and maintain the EveryAction donor database;
  • Draft regular donor updates to demonstrate our impact;
  • Help plan and host donor briefing calls;
  • Attend public events as needed (funder conferences, webinars, etc.);
  • Assist the fundraising consultant with various projects, including drafting pitch materials/decks;
  • Maintain donation page on website.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • 2-3 years experience working in fundraising/development required;
  • Some grant writing experience and knowledge of private foundations strongly preferred;
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills;
  • Sound judgment and discerning eye;
  • Ability to work independently and juggle competing priorities and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proven track record of being a self-starter;
  • Commitment to government accountability and progressive values; and
  • Demonstrated interest in and ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Compensation & Benefits

Minimum salary for this position is $75,000. Exact compensation package is commensurate with experience. Our excellent benefits package includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, a 401(k) match, generous paid time off, professional development opportunities, and more. During the pandemic, all Accountable.US employees are working remotely. Some weekend work may be required.
